What You Need To Know

  • Reservations are accepted up to 5 months in advance of your arrival date.
    This means you can call on February 1, 2023 to make a reservation for July 1, 2023.
  • The Ontario Parks Internet Reservation Service is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The five month reservation window starts at 7:00 a.m. EST daily.
    • You can use the Internet service to book campsites, yurts, and backcountry reservations
    • First time users must complete a registration form to create an account with an email address and unique password.
    • Each time you make a reservation, you will be prompted to enter your email address and password.
    • The information collected in your User Profile is confidential and will not be disclosed to outside parties.
  • The Ontario Parks Call Centre Reservation Service (1-888-668-7275) or 1-519-826-5290 (outside North America) is offered 14 hours a day, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST, year-round (closed Christmas and New Years day).
    • You can use the call centre to book campsites, backcountry sites, cabins, yurts and cottages.
  • Campers making a backcountry reservation will pay the full amount for their reservation at the time of booking,
    rather than paying a deposit at the time of booking and paying the remainder when they arrive at the park.
  • Group campsite reservations can only be made by calling the park directly.
  • No more than six people can occupy a "car camping" campsite unless these people comprise a single family of parents and their children.

Backcountry Reservations - Backcountry Rules

  • Full payment of backcountry camping fees is required at the time your reservation is made.

  • The campsite permit holder must be sixteen years of age or older.

  • The maximum stay on any one backcountry site is sixteen consecutive nights with the following exceptions: four consecutive nights at Killarney on George, O.S.A., David, and Killarney Lakes, and a maximum of one night on sites H1-H8 and H37-H54 on the Killarney Hiking Trail.

  • No more than six people can occupy a backcountry campsite at Killarney hiking trail. All other backcountry campsites have a maximum occupancy of nine people.

  • One vehicle is included with your campsite permit. Additional vehicle permits must be purchased for all other vehicles.

  • You must obtain an interior camping permit prior to entering the backcountry. Campers must be able to present their permit to a park warden if requested.

  • Check-in time is after 2:00 pm and check-out time is before 2:00 pm. If a site is vacant prior to 2:00 pm on the day of your arrival, you may occupy it.

Roofed Accommodation Reservations - Killarney Provincail Park - Yurts

  • Only yurts can be reserved through the Internet Reservation Service. All other roofed accommodation must be reserved by phoning the call centre 1.888.668.7275 or 1.519.826.5290 (outside North America) .
  • The maximum length of stay for rustic cabins and cottages is 14 consecutive nights.
  • In the peak season (3rd Friday in June to Labour Day), rustic cabins and cottages are rented for one-week minimum (Saturday to Saturday inclusive).
 

Roofed Accommodation - Killarney - Yurts

Killarney’s six yurts are located in the George Lake Campground in their own site away from other campers. A short walk of 70m to 200m will take you to your accommodation.

Sleeps: 6

Amenities

All six yurts are available year round. Each yurt sleep six people on two sets of bunk beds; each a double lower mattress and twin upper mattress. Inside, your yurt has lighting, electric heat and a power outlet.

Outside you will find a propane barbecue, two picnic tables and a fire pit. Yurts 3, 4, 5, and 6 also have an outdoor dining area with roof. A metal bear proof food storage locker is available at each yurt.

Parking is available nearby but not on the yurt site. A wagon is available to transport your gear to the yurt. Vault privies are located very close to the yurts and a comfort station is a short distance away.

What to Bring

Campers should bring their own bedding, cookstove, cookware, dishes, food and other personal items.

Restrictions

Please note that domestic animals (pets) are not permitted in the yurt or on site and smoking is prohibited in all facilities. Cooking in yurts is not permitted.

Parking

Parking is available nearby but not on the yurt site. A wagon is available to transport your gear to the yurt. Parking for one vehicle is included in your rental fee.

•Summer: 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Shoulder Season: 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
•Winter Season (November through April): 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
•In the winter season, campers must book at least three days in advance.

If you arrive after office hours or on days when staff are not available, an incoming yurt reservation package will be left for you in the Self Serve Reservation Kiosk.
